Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 24, 2018, I really enjoyed this novel; the Voyager Full Circle books have been a pretty solid read, overall, (the less said about the last novel and the multiple-Janeways thing, the better) and Beyer's latest is a really well constructed 'BDO' adventure. Architects of Infinity is a Pocket VOY novel written by Kirsten Beyer. With options running out, the Doctor and Barclay begin contemplating transferring her mind into a holo-matrix while Sal convinces Gwyn to ignore Kriosian social taboos and donate a blood sample. Nothing happens for well over 250 pages. They have an established planet in the Delta quadrant for shore leave-Neelix's planet. Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2018. Usually, I live for anything to do with Janeway, (she can do no wrong in my eyes) but Janeway's behaviour/storyline in this book was boring and very out-of-character for her. All in all, if you're coming into this book looking for adventure and action you're not going to find. As the Federation starship Voyager continues to lead the Full Circle Fleet in its exploration of the Delta Quadrant, Admiral Kathryn Janeway remains concerned about the Krenim Imperium and its ability to rewrite time to suit its whims. Call me a heretic but I love all of the Star Trek series except for the Original. I keep waiting for the series to have a back-to-basics story and it just doesn't seem to happen. A lot if build up & foundation laid here, but I still really liked it. I'm pretty tired of this arc. Then you can start reading Kindle books on your smartphone, tablet, or computer - no Kindle device required. I mean, there are some things that Kirsten is fantastic at, and some things that sometimes she just can't write. A bit meandering at the beginning, this installment of the tale of the Voyager Fleet in the post-show time invites deep analysis of relationships and ways curiosity can do good and harm. The story was definitely classic trek but went on for to long, i was also hoping for more of a continuation from the previous story. Not to mention that Icheb has also experienced both pleasure and pain in past books (and on the show), making his current inability to feel pleasure or pain ridiculous. would suggest definitely reading the previous novels as they all flow from one into the other. This is supposed to be science fiction, not the Love Boat! Burning Hearts of Qo'nOs, Feb 9, 2018 #13. Curiosity & Parallels with Dumb Co-Eds: ARCHITECTS OF INFINITY a Star Trek Voyager Novel. It follows the "Full Circle" fleet lead by Admiral Janeway on their shenanigans in Krenim space. Add a library card to your account to borrow titles, place holds, and add titles to your wish list. 3.9 out of 5 stars. I appreciate character driven stories but found these characters stuck in melodrama moving at a snail’s pace. Great character development, solid science fiction, really captures the wonder and optimism of the Trek universe. The chance of messing up is high. As one of my favourite Star trek franchises, I always hope I enjoy the new Star Trek Voyager stories, and this book didn't disappoint, although a little slow to start, it soon picked up its pace with typical star trek style, looking forward to the next continuing adventure for Voyager and the Full Circle Fleet in the Delta Quadrant. Desperate for a chance to shine away from the senior staff, Patel leads a team that uncovers the control room of the species who built the habitations, the Edrehmaia. Cheap political points. While the majority of personnel evacuate, Paris and Torres attempt to use pattern enhancers to rescue them but Patel sends her research instead of herself. Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2020. slow slow slow boring boring boring gave up half way through no action at all like a episode of jeremy Kyle. Very disappointed. Not like the others before. Too much repetitive and drawn out soap opera, not enough wit and space opera. Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2019. What the crew eventually discovers (although it takes nearly 2/3's of the way to get there) is that what is there is far more than what meets the eye w/ not only the planet, but also the entire binary star system as well. I am still mad Beyer killed off Jarem Kaz, Voyager's first Doctor since their return to the Alpha Quadrant. Conflict after conflict has taken its toll on the crews so some down time spent on a beautiful alien planet with enough to analyze is just what the Doctor ordered. I would love to revisit the Krenim, not to mention many of the races they've encountered before- the Ocampa, the Kazon, the Swarm, the Hirogen, and even the Malon. Add it now to start borrowing from the collection. Do not think it was very bad, but it simply did not attract me. Price: $6.99 + Free shipping with Amazon Prime. Top positive review. Janeway would NEVER have let this happen! SHARE … The Voyager relaunch has consistently been among my favorite Star Trek novels, and Architects of Infinity is no exception. Another great novel about the missions of the Full Circle Fleet.
