After a small hiccup (we went to Enoteca Style, two blocks down by mistake), we arrived at Davanti and were ushered to a small table in the back patio under a beautifully lit tree. Will We ordered the ricotta + honey comb vasi, which was ricotta cheese with olive oil and nutmeg spread on a slice of bread and you stick some honeycomb on it as well. The flavor was good though. YUM! The BF and I decided to go out for an impromptu date night and after reading about their ricotta honey bread, I immediately knew we had to try Davanti. Served in a mason jar, the Ricotta had a very creamy and light flavor and was very very sweet. I made a blueberry crisp and served this on the side minus the berries. Definitely use the fresh ricotta, as the stuff from the tub in the grocery store just will NOT get smooth! This made for a lovely dessert that's just a little bit special. Serve at room temperature. There is a wonderful farm in my community which makes the best goat cheese and on rare occasions make a ricotta cheese with goats milk. This has been a family favorite for years, and I tried to take it up a notch by using home-made ricotta from local full-fat milk. It's creamy not too sweet, excellent with fruit.I will definitely make this again. We ordered quite a few appetizers (formaggi + salumi, ricotta + honey comb, beef carpaccio + arugula+ capers + tomato + mushrooms) which were all DELICIOUS! After tip, we paid abut $160 for two people.
